MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
We didnt have class this week because of the public holiday. I didnt do nothing much this week. I was just thinking which social group will be appropriate for us to choose to do our assignment. In our last group meeting, we have decided to choose families since they have their own way of carrying themselves in public. The mother must fulfill the desire of the children and same goes to the father. But personally I am not very sure whether families can be chosen for the assignment, so I think we better consult the lecturers before proceeding anything.

Week Three
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
We went to Jusco Equine Park this week to do our observation. We went there in the evening where there is more people. We saw all kind of social groups there such as school students, working staffs, families with small children, cleaners, grandparents, and so on. We walked around with our cameras while observing them. We took pictures of the social groups that we personally thought its interesting. After a while, we were stopped by a security guard saying that we cant bring cameras inside the mall. After we explained to him our situation, he sent us to the service desk to ask for permission. Our request was denied there since there was no any written letters from our lecturers. But we didnt want to just leave without completing anything. So we kept the cameras inside the bags and took out our handphones. We continued taking pictures casually without triggering the guards' attention. I felt like a detective trying to collect information without anyone knowing. It was really fun just watching people; what they are doing? how they are talking? what kind of shops they are going? and so on.

Week Two
The social group that I chose is SCHOOL-CHILDREN (primary & secondary). I found them interesting to observe. They were there with their peers at that big shopping complex without any adult supervision. First thing that came into my mind was 'How much is their pocket money per day??!?'. When I was studying at school, I cant buy anything expensive with my RM2 pocket money. So I observed what they did or bought there.
Alamanda Putrajaya, 11am, I saw these small boys wandering around the shopping complex. They looked like a primary school kids to me. They seemed interested with all those clothing stores for boys. They were also very excited about the Fast food shops like Mcd and KFC.
Alamanda Putrajaya, 11.24am, I saw this bunch of school boys near a telecommunication store side. They looked like a secondary school kids to me. They were more interested with the latest technology.
Alamanda Putrajaya, 12pm, these boys were having lunch at Rotiboy. They were laughing with each other while waiting for the food. I knew they were secondary school kids because of their dressing style and they were carrying school bags.
Alamanda Putrajaya, 12.45pm, This must be primary school kids. They were more interested with the men's clothing store. I noticed that they were observing what other men were wearing.
Alamanda Putrajaya, 1pm, these bunch of girls were interested in women's product store. I noticed a lot of school girls inside women's store buying hair clips, bangles and so on.
Alamanda Putrajaya, 1.30pm, These school girls were just working around and doing window shopping. They did not enter any shops while I was observing them. They were just having chit chat among them and walking around.
MY PERSONAL COMMENT ABOUT MEDIA ANTHROPOLOGY
So far I am enjoying this class. Doing research can be a boredom sometimes. But I like the idea of observing people and doing research through noticing their language, attitudes and so on. I also like the idea of having class outside the classroom ( field research ). I am looking forward to do this research through observation because I can go out to the place I like instead of Google-ing everything.
